LHC Group Inc. is a holding company. The Company provides post-acute health care services to patients through its home nursing agencies community-based services agencies hospice agencies and long-term acute care hospitals (LTACHs). It operates in three segments: home-based services hospice services and facility-based services. LTACH locations provide services primarily to patients with complex medical conditions who have transitioned out of a hospital intensive care unit but whose conditions remain too severe for treatment in a non-acute setting. The Company owns and operates six LTACHs with eight locations of which all but one are located within host hospitals. It also owns and operates a pharmacy and a family health center. Its services include home-based services offered through its home nursing and community-based services agencies hospice services and facility-based services offered through its LTACHs.
