It is also a producer of lithium carbonate which is used in a range of applications. SQM produces potassium chloride and potassium sulfate from brines extracted from the Salar de Atacama. It produces four industrial chemicals: sodium nitrate potassium nitrate boric acid and potassium chloride. In addition it sells other fertilizers and blends some of which it does not produce.
